Our annual reports for each organisation in the group are now available to download.
As the DCHT annual report says, the new group is much more than the sum of its parts. Already the Trust board, with representation from each association and its complement of valuable independent members, is beginning to see the efficiencies anticipated by the business case. Of particular note is the special purpose borrowing vehicle currently being set up, which will enable us to deliver more homes as a group than as three separate organisations.
Tenants across the group have organised and run their first joint conference and have made significant changes to the involvement and governance structures in the three organisations, providing significant cross-group working. We are making efficiencies in our central services and beginning to align our external contracts, so we can deliver economies of scale in procurement over the next few years.
We maintain strong links with other partners, particularly through the development-focussed Partnership South West, and our procurement club for modern methods of construction and maintenance components, Advantage South West.
As a group we manage 17,000 homes and have almost 700 staff, providing housing, support, regeneration and development services across our region. With the formation of the new group we reviewed our values, aims and vision.
The values stay constant. We have expressed our aims more succinctly, and included explicit new aims around the development of our staff and our commitment to the environment. And, our new statement of vision sums up what we are all about; better homes, better places, better lives.
