Open Door, our residents’ magazine, is currently undergoing major changes, as previously reported.
The four concept designs were presented to a group of residents in May for their opinions and feedback. The designs were also posted on the intranet for all staff to comment on and on all of our websites and other residents were encouraged to comment online.

ed, the design company chosen had the most residents’ votes, they came second in the staff votes and, very importantly, they were the cheapest design company! We also get the added benefit of a creative agency with numerous designers so if something happened to our designer someone else could easily pick up the job. They also have lots of links with other local businesses which we hope to tap into, adding value for our readers with competition prizes or offers.
The design company chosen, RH Partners based in Exeter, are working alongside the Open Door editorial teams in Devon and Cornwall and adding a few extra items from various wish lists (such as ensuring the colour of text and the colour of the background is suitable for people with visual problems) to the forthcoming issues of Open Door which we are all sure will be fantastic!
The newly revamped, all singing and dancing Devon and Cornwall editions of Open Door are due in the next few weeks, but watch out for updates as we’ll let you know more soon.
