Getting down and dirty

There was mud, sweat and tears of joy for an intrepid team of housing association workers and their press-ganged family members who made it to the finish line.

A triumphant team TORnado, having completed the 2011 Commando Challenge

The team, calling themselves Team TORnado, from Tor Homes, part of Devon & Cornwall Housing group, completed the Royal Marines 10k Commando Challenge, raising £500 for Devon Air Ambulance and C Group – Supporting Royal Marines.

Alice Potter, team organiser for Tor Homes said: “We’ve spent the last few days comparing bruises, scrapes, aches and pains, but have all decided it was well worth it.

“The Commando Challenge definitely lived up to its name, with pitch-black tunnels, rivers, mud, sheep dip, mud, slippery banks, bogs to roll and crawl in…oh and some more mud.

“We raised £500 for the Devon Air Ambulance and the Supporting Royal Marines charity, so a big thank you to everyone who sponsored us and supported the team.”
