The Big Tidy Up
Affordable housing provider, Tor Homes, part of Devon & Cornwall Housing group, is teaming up with representatives from the Police and South Hams Council to invite youngsters to come along to the Manor Park Primary School, Ivybridge, before heading off to do some litter picking.
Youngsters and volunteers living on the Manor Park estate, Ivybridge, are being invited to take part in a Big Tidy Up on Wednesday 3 August between 2.00 pm and 5.00 pm
Once the litter pick is over, the volunteers will be treated to refreshments at the school and can work off any excess energy on a bouncy castle. Thanks to Tone Leisure, swimming vouchers or youth night tickets will be given to all the children who take part.
“This event is open to anyone living on the Manor Park estate, explains Jane Randles, Tor Homes’ Customer & Community Contact Manager. “Old or young, everyone is welcome and whilst the children are litter picking, staff from the various agencies will be knocking on doors to find out if there are any other problems which need addressing in the area.”
The Big Tidy Up is part of the Keep Britain Tidy campaign and aims to inspire others to take practical action.
“It’s not that Manor Park is any different to any other area, says Jane, “We have over ninety homes on the estate and the Big Tidy Up is a fantastic project that Tor Homes is proud to support. Working together like this creates a real sense of community.”
