David Orr presents at AGM
We welcomed our guest David Orr, NHF Chief Executive, at DCHT's AGM, who presented his views about future challenges.
David Orr, NHF Chief Executive, presented his views about challenges facing the housing sector and the need to think creatively in the future, at DCHT's Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 29 September 2010.
The day started with a tour around innovative mixed-used developments in Devonport and Millbay, where David Orr was in attendance along with board members and other Devon & Cornwall Housing staff.
The tour included:

Phoenix Quay, Millbay – a key site developed by Midas Homes providing 126 new homes along with commercial space. Tor Homes will provide 32 affordable homes

Ker Street, Devonport – a joint venture between Westco and Midas Homes providing 60% private sale, 25% affordable rent and 15% homebuy

Devonport extra care scheme – contemporary housing for the elderly providing 42 flats for affordable rent

Gun Wharf, Devonport - award-winning scheme with Midas Homes providing 35 private sale, 46 affordable rent and 18 shared ownership homes. Click here for more details.
In the afternoon at the AGM Jonathan Broad gave
his last speech as he retired after three years of service as Chair of DCHT. We thank Jonathan for his dedication and hard work over the years.
David Orr and DCH Group Chief Executive Paul Crawford both gave inspiring presentations about the future and challenges. Paul thanked Jonathan for his service and at the board meeting after the AGM Tim Tamblyn was elected as the new DCHT Chair. We welcome Tim to his new position.
It was a very good day where new challenges were embraced.
