Potential partnership with Tor Homes

We are really pleased that Tor Homes board members have agreed to join Devon & Cornwall Housing group.

The decision has to be approved by a special general meeting of Tor Homes later this year and by the Housing Corporation. We hope that Tor Homes will join us in April next year. Howard Toplis, chief executive of Tor Homes, said: “Selecting and joining Devon & Cornwall Housing is an exciting step forward for Tor Homes. It will make a real difference to our tenants and those on the housing waiting list.”

Bob Hatfield, chair of the Tor Homes board, added: “Our residents are at the heart of our business and I welcome this new partnership with Devon & Cornwall Housing. It means we will continue to have local people on our board who will have control over decisions that affect housing in their community. The partnership will increase our capacity to respond to the pressing need for more affordable homes in our region and improve our services to our residents.”

We believe that Tor Homes and Devon & Cornwall Housing make natural partners - we are both local organisations who can work together to be more than the sum of our parts.
