What if the problem arises from when the property was built?
All new DCH homes will be sold to our customers with a level of warranty and insurance cover. This will typically be provided by the NHBC, although we do use alternative warranty providers, and will cover the property for a period of 10 to12 years.

During the first two years, the builder warranty will ensure that the builder corrects damage to the property caused by the builder’s failure to build to the warranty provider’s standards. This does not cover wear and tear or any changes to your home after completion.

During year’s three to ten, or twelve depending on the length of the cover, the builder warranty will provide insurance to cover the cost of correcting physical damage in specified parts of your home. The specific areas covered will be detailed in your warranty certificate.

Please note that all claims against this warranty and insurance cover, during year’s three to ten/twelve, will require an excess payment to be made by the claimant. The level of excess required to be paid will be detailed in your warranty certificate.

If your home is covered by NHBC cover you can contact them on 0800 035 6455 or visit www.nhbc.co.uk/Warrantiesandcover/Homeowners

Please note DCH may use other warranty providers. Please refer to your warranty certificate included in your welcome pack.
